Here’s the new entry in my reading list and on Project Prosperity Bookshop, a book that I recommend as a Christmas present for yourself, your friends and family, a precious gift to start the new year with fresh and empowering energy: “Crazy Sexy Kitchen: 150 Plant-Empowered Recipes to Ignite a Mouthwatering Revolution” by Kris Carr.
For those of you who do not know Kris, she is a beautiful lady who in 2003 was diagnosed a very rare form of cancer. That was a true wake-up call for Kris and this is what she says about it: “My wake-up call encouraged me to make a total lifestyle upgrade inside and out. It taught me how to listen to my brilliant inner guide, brought me back to nature (my church), the garden and kitchen (my pharmacies), and connected me more deeply with the people and animals who set my heart ablaze. I learned that a nutrient dense, plant-passionate diet rules, the Standard American Diet destroys (everything), stress sucks (all life-force), exercise is non-negotiable (great for your head, heart, cells and ass-ets), joy is utterly contagious, and having fun must be taken very seriously.”
Her life journey inspired her five books and a film documentary “Happy Sexy Cancer” that’s been aired on TLC and The Oprah Winfrey Network: OWN.
“Crazy Sexy Kitchen” is more than just a cookbook: it’s organized in courses: the first course is an overview of the Crazy Sexy Diet (raw food is the main foundation of the diet). The second and third courses are mini-cooking classes (for those of us who are not real experts in the kitchen
). The fourth course is where the recipes are found and include sample menus:
I’m sure here you will find a lot of inspiration for you Christmas and New Year special menus!
You also find very interesting alternatives for those with food sensitivities, allergies, dietary restrictions.

I wish you all a New Happy, Sexy, Crazy, Healthy Christmas and 2013 full of prosperity in your kitchen, business, body, mind and spirit!
To your prosperity

This looks like a wonderful recipe book! Having a career in the Mind/Body field for the past 25yrs has enabled me to see miraculous recoveries when mindset and a whole foods diet are combined. Thank you for sharing this beneficial book.

Thank you Tonya. I strongly believe in the mind and body (therefore, diet) connection! This is a very nice book: Kris has a unique writing style and there are a lot of interesting tips and information in the book. I’ve tried some of the recipes myself: they are very tasty and different from the standard vegetarian ones. I’m sure you would enjoy reading it and trying some of the delicious menus!

Yes tracy, you’re right. I must say I’m not able to follow a completely raw diet either. However, I have given up dairy products completely and I feel much better. Thank you for your comment!

I read Kris’ book a year or so ago. I enjoyed hearing her story and admire all she’s done. More people need to realize how “in charge” (or at least when it comes to our thoughts) we can be and the power behind our words and our actions. I didn’t realize she had a cookbook out as well.

Hello Paola, I will get this book and get to know more about Kris Carr. I am looking to make radical changes in my approach to better eating, exercise and lifestyle habits.
Happy Holidays…

Hi Katy,
you’re right: most people do not realize (or sometimes forget) how powerful their thoughts and the emotions accompanying their thoughts are! It’s not always easy to make shift in your thoughts, but when you do make it you definitely see the difference and realize that miracles do occur!
Kris’ book was published very recently, a couple of months ago. I enjoyed reading every page! I tried some of the recipes: very tasty and different from the usual vegetarian dishes. Some are perfect for a special Christmas menu too.
And speaking about Christmas, I wish you a blessed Christmas and a prosperous 2013!
